It is becoming more common now to perform ‘complex’ or ‘combined’ exercises that involve working out the whole body at the same time; dedicated arms, legs, back, chest or abs sessions are out and effective whole-body training systems are in!
These movements incorporate full movement exercises like a squat with an upper body exercise such as an overhead press, or a burpee that incorporates a squat with a push-up. When combined, the movements train your cardio-fitness by adding speed and strength by adding weights.
The result is a shorter, more intense workout. There’s accountability for motivation, select a combination workout like our 360Warrior program and time yourself. Aim to repeat the workout again and beat your last time. The exercises need to be simple, so you can maintain good form while focusing on speed. A high-speed workout will result in a higher heart rate, which will see you keep your metabolism up for hours after your workout, burning more calories for longer!
