Adding a bit of disorder and disruption to your training program can sometimes be just what you need to get stronger and fitter.  In an interesting book by Nassim Nicholas Taleb called Antifragile, he presents the idea that the world is made up of three categories of people: The Fragile, The Robust and The Antifragile.

The Fragile avoid disorder and disruption and play it safe for fear of messing up, in actual fact they are making themselves vulnerable to shock that turns things upside down for them.  The Robust can stand up to the shocks without the blink of an eye, but they don’t change.  The Antifragile use shocks and disruptions to make them stronger, they adapt more easily to new challenges in life.

Have an Antifragile approach to your training program.  As you get fitter and stronger you could benefit from adding in more shock, different for everyone may mean different training methods, varied intensity modes or taking on new challenges.   There is value in introducing the right kind of stress to your body for strength and improvement.
